During RTK surveying, the solution status is one of the first things surveyors check before measuring a point. A FIXED solution generally indicates that the receiver has successfully resolved the integer ambiguities required for centimeter-level positioning.

In GNSS/INS integrated navigation and vehicle guidance systems, dual-antenna installation orientation directly affects heading accuracy.
